An accounting of the most disliked athletes for 2013 has pushed Lance Armstrong to the top of a list of ten members who have earned this dubious distinction. However, according to Forbes on Feb. 7, the shamed cyclist isn't alone on this precarious precipice because Manti Te'o is up there too, sharing the spot with Armstrong.
So, with these two taking on the magazine's highest ranking regarding just who the public can't stand, this means that hiding illegal doping to enhance athletic experiences isn't the only reason for people being repulsed by celebrities of this genre.
Indeed, a fake romance can get you that treat, too, as determined by surveys from the Nielsen sports and market research firm called E-Poll.
So can infidelity, as Tiger Woods can attest since he's still not popular even though his huge screw-up and subsequent scandal happened a few years back.
Actually, it doesn't even take a huge scandal to make this list of most disliked athletes.
Jay Cutler is among the Forbes picks, allegedly because this high profile athlete perceived as being standoffish by the people who drive him: his fans and his teammates. Metta World Peace seems to be joining these other players because of a bad boy image he has tried to shed in recent years.
Others who make the Forbes most disliked athletes list for 2013 are Alex Rodriguez, Michael Vick, Kurt Busch, Kobe Bryant, and Tony Roma.
With all that said, do these guys deserve to be singled out as most disliked athletes? And, even more pressing, why aren't any women on this particular list? Inquiring minds want to know.
