The Los Angeles based group Moshav excitedly discusses here their internationally renowned video (and lead single) "World on Fire," their collaboration with Matisyahu, and more. The video already has more than 600,000 views.

W.E. What initiated the concept for the new single/video "World on Fire?" And how was West LA chosen as the location?

Moshav: This song is about spreading your own light in the world and about how every action counts, even the smallest ones. We figured the best place to start was in our own neighborhood. We have made Los Angeles our second home for the past ten years and felt that it would be a great location to showcase the concept of the video and demonstrate the message of the lyrics.

W.E. What was the experience like collaborating with Matisyahu?

Moshav: We have been friends with him for a long time and he has always been incredibly supportive of what we do. We were driving around with him one day and played him a new song we had been working on. He really enjoyed it and expressed that he wanted to be a part of the record. A few days later he dropped by the studio and cut his part. He added a great element to the song and having someone as recognizable, accomplished and talented as he is definitely brought the song to a whole new level.

W.E. What is the most exciting aspect of the upcoming album New Sun Rising?

Moshav: We set out to make a record that would be really fun to play live. Our shows are energetic and fun but also really about quality music so we wanted to craft an album that audiences would respond to in a positive and fun way. The goal was to make a very rhythmic record that our fans could dance to but at the same time leave an emotional footprint on their soul. At the end of the day, we make music with a message but that doesn’t mean it has to be dull. We have gotten a great reaction so far and are excited to let everyone hear the full project!
