Mortus Strider from 'Gatecrash' stalls games

Featured in the "Dimir Dementia" intro pack, Mortus Strider is one of the newest gold Dimir cards from Wizards of the Coast's latest expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set "Gatecrash."

Mortus Strider can stall games until you draw an answer. Mortus Strider can help you mill an opponent when combined with Consuming Aberration. If you've managed to acquire any Extort creatures in your limited pool such as Thrull Parasite, Syndic of Tithes, or Crypt Ghast you'll be able to turn casting Mortus Strider into a win condition.

Another way to abuse Mortus Strider is with an Ogre Slumlord on the battlefield to create a horde of deathtouch rat tokens. It also makes a tasty snack for Grimgrin, Corpse-Born or any other sacrifice outlet you may have.

Should you plan on using Mortus Strider as just a blocker, hope your opponent doesn't have tramplers like Crowned Ceratok or is holding a Ghor-Clan Rampager.
