Morrow had 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points in 44 games last season with the Dallas Stars and Pittsburgh Penguins. He then added two goals and two assists for four points in 14 playoff games.
According to the Pittsburgh Penguins website, Brenden Morrow was traded from Dallas to Pittsburgh last season on March 24, 2013 for prospect Joe Morrow and a fifth round pick in the 2013 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
Morrow has also been praised for his excellent leadership qualities. He was the captain for the Stars from 2006-2013 before being traded to Pittsburgh. The Stars named Jamie Benn their captain on September 19.
Morrow, who is now a checking line left winger at this stage of his National Hockey League career, registered two goals and one assist for three points in seven games in helping team Canada win a gold medal in men's hockey at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
