Morrow gets nod for All-Star weekend

Anthony Morrow will finally get his chance to test his shooting skills against the NBA’s best.

As far as the record books are concerned, Morrow historically is one of the league’s best shooters. He will have his chance to prove his ability during All-Star weekend.

Morrow is ranked only behind Steve Kerr all-time for three-point field-goal percentage.

Morrow is shooting 42.4 percent from beyond the arc this season, which is not even tops on his own team.

Jordan Farmar is converting on 46.1 percent of his field-goal attempts, but he attempts only 3.3 threes per game. Morrow takes two more per game.

Morrow is averaging 13.7 ppg this season and enjoyed a breakout game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He erupted for 42 points and drained eight three-pointers in the Nets’ 108-105 loss.

Morrow will reportedly join former Net Ryan Anderson and Kevin Love in the three-point shooting contest.

“I’m really excited, man — ecstatic," Morrow told the Star-Ledger Monday. “This morning my agent called me and told me they’re going to invite me. I’m really excited, and thankful for the opportunity."

The three-point shooting contest will take place Saturday, Feb. 25 at Orlando’s Amway Center.

Brandon Rush is the NBA's leading three-point shooter at 56.3 percent on three attempts per game.
