Morrissey cancels spring 2013 North American tour

On March 16 singer-songwriter Morrissey announced that his North American tour for the spring of 2013 is officially cancelled with no plans of being rescheduled. Within the last five months Morrissey has postponed North American tour dates on three separate occasions. You can view a complete list of cancelled tour dates below.

He previously cancelled part of his fall 2012 North American tour due to his mother falling ill. He rescheduled those tour dates for early 2013, plus he even added on extra cities. At the end of January Morrissey was hospitalized in Royal Oak, Mich. for a suspected bladder infection.

It was later determined he had a bleeding ulcer and had to cancel even more tour dates. He made up for those dates by announcing a spring North American tour, which is the same tour that is now cancelled due to his on-going health issues.

On his official fan site Morrissey wrote:

It takes a lifetime to find the right words, and at the moment, I haven't got them. I've been a colossal pain where this continuously unpredictable illness is concerned, and now the physical limits have been reached. The tour had, in fact, been fantastic for all of us - a new slice of life full of concentrated power. I hope this isn't the end, and I hope there will be other chances, minus the heavy burden of illness. Knots of grief today, but full of resolve for tomorrow.

If you have purchased tickets for any of Morrissey's now cancelled tour dates you can obtain a refund at the point of purchase.
