English singer Morrissey announced that the remaining dates of his U.S. tour have officially been cancelled due to medical reasons. This includes the recently announced April 5th date at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C.
Morrissey, who had postponed dates for this tour in the past due to his mother being ill and then his own illness, is again citing medical reasons for the cancellations. The singer has suffered a series of medical mishaps over the past few months including a bleeding ulcer, Barrett’s esophagus and double pneumonia.
In a statement issued by his publicist, it reads, "Despite his best efforts to try to continue touring, Morrissey has to take a hiatus and will not be able to continue on the rest of the tour. Morrissey thanks all of his fans for their well wishes and thoughts."
Refunds for all cancelled shows are available at the point of purchase.
