Morrissey cancels Kimmel appearance due to 'Duck Dynasty'

English singer Morrissey has cancelled his appearance on tonight's Jimmy Kimmel Live due to cast members of A&E's Duck Dynasty also appearing on this evening's show.

Morrissey, who is an outspoken vegan and PETA advocate, released a statement saying that while he is "thankful for being invited to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live" he can't "morally be on a television program where the cast members of Duck Dynasty will also be guests."

Duck Dynasty is an A&E reality show that follows the members of the Robertson family, who own and operated their family business Duck Commander, which makes products for duck hunters.

Morrissey's statement also read that "As far as my reputation is concerned, I can't take the risk of being on a show alongside people who, in effect, amount to animal serial killers. If Jimmy cannot dump Duck Dynasty then we must step away" also adding "Morrissey would be honored to play the show, if Duck Dynasty were removed."

Jimmy Kimmel Live has replaced Morrissey with the band Churchill.

Morrissey, who was forced to cancel recent shows due to ulcers, is scheduled to return to the stage on February 27th at San Diego's Balboa Theatre.
