Tonight is the first home game of the 10th season for the Lancaster Barnstormers! Tickets are still available for tonight’s 7 p.m. game. The gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the first 1000 fans through the gates tonight will receive an Anniversary All Star Card Set. Quick Change, from America’s Got Talent, will perform this evening. There will be fireworks after the game. Players from the last nine seasons will return for a meet & greet from the 1st through the 3rd inning! The Barnstormers are now 3-2.
The Loyalty Day Carnival will open at 5 p.m. at Buchanan Park, on Race Avenue. There will be rides, live music and carnival style games. The Bond House will be dedicated on Saturday in a ceremony also honoring area WWII veterans. There will be fireworks about 9 p.m. on Friday.
The Lancaster area remains under a Flood Warning until 8 a.m., according to the National Weather Service (NWS), for the Conestoga River. Safety reminder: do not drive through flooded areas. Many roads throughout the County are closed due to rising water. Allot extra time for your morning commute today. Today’s high is expected to reach 70 degrees but we still face a chance of afternoon showers. It is also a high humidity day. The weather should be nice though in time for tonight’s game, carnival and other activties.
Thorton Wilder’s Our Town will be performed at the Ware Center, 42 North Prince Street, this week. Performances are 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Sunday’s performance will be at 2 p.m.
Buddy Holly comes alive at the Fulton Theatre. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tonight is “Thirsty for History” night. Join LancasterHistory.org at 6:30 p.m.in the Fulton’s 2nd floor Gardner Lobby for wine, cheese and a historical perspective on the performance at no additional charge. The show continues through 11 May.
Low Cut Connie returns to Tellus360 tonight. The doors open at 7 p.m. for the 8 p.m. show. Cover charge is $10. The Silks will open for them.
The flushing of the water distribution system by Lancaster Public Works is continues through 30 May. If your water appears cloudy, let it run for a moment. If the problem continues, call the Water Quality Lab at 717-291-4818.
The air here in Lancaster County is less than ideal. This is according to the American Lung Association’s annual air quality report. Lancaster County failed in all three areas: ozone, particle pollution-24 hour, and particle pollution-annual.
