Morgan threatens to deport self (Video)

Piers Morgan has threatened to deport himself after a petition on the We The People website garnered nearly 100,000 electronic signatures asking the White House to deport Morgan " . . . for his effort to undermine the Bill of Rights . . . " among other perceived actions against the United States Constitution. The petition reads, in its entirety:

"We petition the Obama administration to:

Deport British Citizen Piers Morgan for Attacking 2nd Amendment

British Citizen and CNN television host Piers Morgan is engaged in a hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution by targeting the Second Amendment. We demand that Mr. Morgan be deported immediately for his effort to undermine the Bill of Rights and for exploiting his position as a national network television host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens."

As of Dec. 31, 2012, that petition has exactly 94,987 signatures. Only 25,000 signatures were needed by Jan. 20, 2013 to trigger an official White House response.

In an op ed piece that he wrote for The Daily Mail, Piers Morgan threatens to deport self over the gun control issue. His response reads, in part:

"To even try to conceive of how you would feel if your child was shot multiple times in the head by a Rambo madman at school is just impossible. I honestly don’t know how you would ever carry on with life.

But my anger turned to blind rage when I saw the reaction to this hideous massacre in America.

Sales of the specific weapon used, an AR-15 military-style assault rifle, rocketed at gun stores all over America in the days following the Sandy Hook shooting. . . .

To me, this is a warped, twisted logic that bears no statistical analysis and makes no sense. Do you fight drug addiction with more cocaine? Alcoholism with more Jack Daniel’s? Of course not."

Piers Morgan's Daily Mail op ed was not his only response to the petition to have him deported, he also sent out a series of tweets, like this one: "If I do get deported from America for wanting fewer gun murders, are there any other countries that will have me?"
