Morgan Thompson earns second athlete of the week

Past winners

2013/2014 Winter season- Week 9-January 27th- February 2nd


Morgan Thompson- Schenck- basketball- Recorded 40 points, eight rebounds, four assists, four steals, and four blocks in 71-36 victory over Katahdin.

Scored 10 points, including her 1000 career point in 35-34 win over Houlton.

Recorded 13 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks in 43-34 victory over Mattanawcook.

Thompson has led the Wolverines to a 14-3 record. They are currently second in the MPA class D heal point standings with one game left in the regular season.

Thompson also earned athlete of the week on September 29th, 2013 when she had a huge week on the soccer field.

This is the third time a Schenck student/athlete has earned AOW. Ashley Leavitt earned the honor on September 30th, 2012.

Runner up

Kate Whitney- Machias- basketball- Recorded 15 points, nine rebounds, and six assists in 48-29 loss to Narraguagus. Recorded 19 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in 59-38 victory over Bangor Christian. Recorded 19 points, seven rebounds, six steals, and three assists in 59-40 victory over Shead.

Other nominations

Hannah Philippon- John Bapst- basketball- Scored 32, including 18 in the overtime periods in 77-70 triple overtime victory over Bucksport.

Deb Wight- Bucksport- basketball- Recorded 27 points, eight rebounds, six steals, and two assists in 77-70 triple overtime loss to John Bapst. Wight also averaged 13 points, five steals, four rebounds, and four assists in game against Deer Isle-Stonington and Dexter last week. Scored nine pionts in 58-40 loss to Washington Academy.

Elea Kass- Orono - basketball- Scored 26 points, including 8 three pointers in 48-36 win over Washington Academy. Had 11 points in 49-26 victory over Central.

Brianna Skolfield-Foxcroft- basketball- Scored 17 points and pulled down 14 rebounds in 42-32 victory over PCHS.
