Morgan Hill 7-Eleven robbed at gunpoint

A Morgan Hill 7-Eleven was robbed at gunpoint early Wednesday morning, Morgan Hill police reported today.

Officers were dispatched to the convenience store in the 200 block of Main Avenue at about 2:10 a.m. on a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, they learned that two male suspects entered the store and confronted the lone store clerk.

The victim told police that one of the suspects was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun and the other carried an aluminum baseball bat. They demanded that the clerk open the cash register at gunpoint and managed to escape with an undisclosed amount of cash, lottery tickets, and cigarettes, according to police. The suspects were both clad in dark clothing, gloves, and ski masks and were last seen running eastbound on West Main Avenue.

The robbery was captured on the store’s surveillance system and Morgan Hill police have released a surveillance image in the hopes that someone will be able to identify the suspects.
