Recently, this space introduced a different gaming audience to RecordSetter, the New York-based organization often seen on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and in the recent RecordSetter Book of World Records.
A number of names known in various competitive gaming communities have since submitted scores and times of a variety of games to the RecordSetter site. David Race recently gained mainstream media attention for a new Pac-Man record verified first by RecordSetter while score submissions from gamers including Elizabeth Bolinger, Tim McVey, Matt Siegfried, Michael Sroka and others have recently been verified.
I've sent in several myself, and thus far no submission has taken more than two days to appear within the RecordSetter database. All submissions can be done online without anything to print out or mail and video downloads work quickly.
Illinois gamer Paul Zimmerman recently commented on the ease of the RecordSetter site as well. Recently, Zimmerman performed live streaming broadcasts of his runs on several Atari 2600 games including Space Invaders and Defender. The streams themselves were accepted as RecordSetter world records.
"I am very, very happy with RecordSetter as a whole so far," Zimmerman said. "Dan Rollman, Corey Henderson and Emily Miethner have been very supportive and helpful. During my stream, in the chatroom along with everyone else, was Dan and Emily. I was truly honored to have them watching my stream."
