Raleigh Weather Discussion
In general, a pretty tranquil weather pattern is ahead. On my 10 day forecast I only have one day with a chance for rain, Monday night into Tuesday, but other than that I don’t see any rain chances at the moment.
Temperatures will be cool the next two days, but then we enter a period where we will likely be in the 60s for an extended period of time, and perhaps 70 particularly on Monday. Keep in mind that normal highs this time of year are in the low and in a week or two mid 60s, so that is what we are comparing against. So compare against that except for a few warm days this weekend into Monday temps will be pretty close if not a couple of degrees below normal.
So for those who have been wanting more spring like weather it appears we should have weather more typical of mid-march ahead.
National Extended Weather Discussion
An upper low over southeast Canada will keep the eastern US in a relatively cool pattern for mid to late March as we enter the 11-15 day period, but a weakening of the ridging in western North America will allow for some storm system to potentially move into California and southwest US. This jet stream alignment could allow for a warm up across the central and southern plains and eventually the lower Mississippi Valley.
As of now I still don’t see an extreme cold or warm air mass threat across the US for mid to late March currently.
