Top seeds have been named for the Houston Tennis Association NJTL Zone Advancement Tournament, which will be held September 6-7 at seven Houston tennis sites.

Lee LeClear Tennis Center, 9506 S. Gessner, is headquarters. Other sites are Memorial and Homer Ford tennis centers, Lost Forest Racquet Club, Sienna Plantation, Missouri City Recreation and Tennis Center and Clements High School.

The tournament benefits the HTA/NJTL (National Junior Tennis & Learning) free Houston youth tennis program.

Draws are limited to 32 players, resulting in multiple seeds in some age divisions. Entrants total 506.

Top seeds in the boys age divisions are: 18s—Evan Gan, College Station; 16s—Adam Moore, League City, Alex Hernandez, Deer Park, and Brett Leonard, Katy; 14s—Anish Kulkarni, Jackson Edwards, and Ben White, all of Houston; and 12s—Eli Cowan, Bellaire, and Shanth Koka, Sugar Land.

Top seeds in the girls age divisions are: 18s–Sandhiya Ravichandran, College Station; 16s—Hannah Cooley, Friendswood, and Abigail Griffith, Fair Oaks Ranch; 14s—Michaela Csikos, The Woodlands, and Darce Markowsky, College Station; and 12s—Ananya Suresh and Bailey Zhang, both of Houston.

The youngsters earn points to qualify for championship status.
