Florida is known as the Sunshine State. And for a growing number of people, this means earning a living from energy produced by the sun.

Over 4,000 people work in solar energy jobs in Florida. This is an increase of 60 percent from 2012, according to the Solar Foundation, a nonprofit research group. This information was contained in an article by Doreen Hemlock in the February 15 Sun Sentinel

The use of solar energy is increasing and the price of solar panels has decreased by 60 percent since 2011 and Florida's largest utility, Florida Power & Light Company is offering rebates, according to an article by Doreen Hemlock in the February 15 Sun Sentinel.

"I think it is good that more people are using solar energy. We need to get away from fossil fuels that pollute the environment and contribute to global warming," said Juan Hernando.

"I might consider pursuing a career in solar energy. I believe in solar energy and I think that is where more people will get their energy in the future," said Chelsea Burns.
