A series of Alberta Clippers will continue to move through the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas through tomorrow morning with scattered snow showers expected.
Not all locations will have snow showers through tomorrow morning, but where the snow falls, accumulations will range from a coating to as much as two inches of snow. Winds will be from the north and northwest at 5 to 15 mph through tomorrow afternoon. While temperatures today will struggle in the upper 20′s to lower 30′s for highs this afternoon, temperatures for tomorrow will range from the mid 20′s to lower 30′s for lows and mid 30′s to lower 40′s for highs tomorrow. Naturally, the coldest locations will be over the interior.
High pressure will be in control tomorrow evening through Thursday afternoon with scattered cloud cover and dry conditions. Winds will be from the north and northeast at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will range from the upper 10′s to lower 20′s for lows and lower to mid 30′s for highs.
An area of low pressure will develop along the North Carolina coast and track towards the New England coastal waters on Thursday night through Friday. This low pressure system will produce a variety of weather impacts throughout the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas. Along the coast, the precipitation will start off as snow but will mix over to sleet and rain by Friday morning. Accumulations will be limited as temperatures rise above freezing. However, to the north of Philadelphia and north and northwest of New York City, more snowfall is expected with a mix over to snow, sleet, and freezing rain. There will be a significant potential for accumulating snow and ice with this storm. The best potential for snowfall will be over central/northern Connecticut, the Hudson River Valley, extreme northern New Jersey, and portions of northeastern Pennsylvania. Temperatures will range from the mid 20′s to lower 30′s for lows and lower to mid 30′s over the interior and upper 30′s to mid 40′s along the coast for highs.
High pressure will be in control Friday night on through Monday with dry conditions and scattered cloud cover. Temperatures will average near normal for the period with lows in the mid 20′s to lower 30′s and highs in the upper 30′s to mid 40′s.
