The strong cold front, which pushed through the state on Friday, bringing a round of strong to severe storms and much cooler weather over this weekend will return to the north as a warm front.
A broad area of rain and few thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the front as it slowly moves to the north through Monday morning.
Rain could become heavy at times late tonight and early Monday morning, with some areas, mainly north of Interstate 20, receiving possibly 1 to 2 inches of rainfall by Monday afternoon.
Many areas have already received over 15 inches of rainfall over the past several weeks and grounds are very saturated and with more rain on the way, some localized flooding is possible across the area.

Temperatures will vary widely from north to south on Monday.
High temperatures south of the warm front in Southern Mississippi should manage to rise into the upper 70s to low 80s, while temperatures in Northern Mississippi will remain steady in the 60s throughout the day.


The overall wet weather pattern will continue through the week, with periods of showers and thunderstorms and even the threat of strong to severe storms on Thursday.
