Another voluntary pet food recall was announced today, this time from "The Honest Kitchen" in in San Diego. Specific lots of their Verve, Zeal and Thrive products are being voluntarily recalled due to the potential health risk of Salmonella contamination. This makes the third company to make such an announcement in the last two days. With Kasel Associated Industries and Nutri-Vet LLC making similar voluntary recalls due to Salmonella contamination risk.
The lots being recalled are:
- Item Code V4 + VR, Product Verve, Lot 2332A (Batches 1 - 3)
- Item Code VR, Product Verve, Lot 3062A (Batches 8 + 9)
- Item Code TM, Product Thrive, Lot 2622A (Batch 3)
- Item Code Z4 + ZR, Product Zeal, Lot 2272A (Batches 1 - 5)
- Item COde ZR, Product Zeal, Lot 2652A (Batches 1 - 4)
If you have purchased the above lots of Honest Kitchen Verve, Zeal, or Thrive products, stop feeding them to your pets immediately, remove the UPC and lot code from the package and discard the contents. You can receive a replacement or full refund of the MSRP of the affected products plus $1 to cover your postage. Mail the UPC and Lot code along with a reimbursement form (which you can get by clicking here and printing out the form) to:

Please remember that your pets and you are at risk from Salmonella contamination - always wash your hands thoroughly after handling products that have been recalled, and dispose in closed containers so other animals cannot become ill from ingesting these items.
