More people are getting jobs in South Florida.
The unemployment rate for Broward County is 5.5 percent. But employment in Broward County grew 3.3 percent over the past year and is leading Florida's growth of 3 percent, according to a Florida report contained in an article by Marcia Heroux Pounds in the April 19 Sun Sentinel.
Broward County gained 25,000 jobs since March 2013, mostly in retail and trade as well as hospitality, professional services and even construction, according to the article by Marcia Heroux Pounds in the April 19 Sun Sentinel.
"This is good to hear. I have actually received two offers from hotels. I have experience in hotel administration so I am excited," said Pamela Stevens.
"I hope this trend continues. I work in construction and the past two years have been a struggle. But now I am getting some offers and this makes me happy," said Bryan Ortega.
"The more people who are working the better. Because if more people are getting larger paychecks they can spend it at my store and that help me and everyone who works here," said Sonya Branson.
