The sad new of the death of the Ultimate Warrior, just days after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, has the wrestling world in complete shock. Countless wrestling personalities jumped on social media to give forth their thoughts and sympathy. TMZ reported more on his death as well after it happened on the evening of April 8, 2014.
The gossip site reported that Warrior - real name Jim Hellwig - had flown out to Arizona after leaving New Orleans on Monday morning. Around 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday, he collapsed outside his Arizona hotel while walking to his car with his wife.
From there, Warrior was taken to a nearby hospital and he was soon pronounced dead. An exact cause of death has not yet been given.
One fan even posted on Twitter that he had seen the Ultimate Warrior in the New Orleans airport on Tuesday morning. The fan took a pic with Warrior and it showed the WWE legend smiling and he looked to be in good spirits.
Those that go back and watch his promo on "Monday Night Raw" from April 8, 2014, will see that it is freakishly cryptic and foretelling.
After the passing of the 54-year-old wrestling icon, many wrestling personalities took to social media to react.
Vince McMahon tweeted, "We are all so sad that the Ultimate Warrior has passed away. Our hear is with his wife Dana and his two daughters."
Triple H just tweeted, "Saddened to announce the passing of the Ultimate Warrior. Icon and friend. My sympathy to his wife Dana and his daughters."
Stephanie McMahon also tweeted, "#RIPUltimateWarrior Your strength of character is to be admired. There will never be anyone like you. Your spirit lives on in your family."
Hulk Hogan -- Warrior's greatest rival -- has also tweeted, "RIP WARRIOR. only love. HH"
Kevin Nash wrote, "So happy I embraced Warrior with a hug when we saw each other backstage Saturday night.My heart goes out to his family.Always Believe."
Warrior posed for some pics at the airport in New Orleans around 6am this morning. We're told he was in great spirits and offered to take photos with any fan who approached him.
