We had some details last night about the Traveling Wilburys book launch in Beverly Hills. Here are more details from Chris Carter of Sirius/XM's "Breakfast With the Beatles" along with pictures from both Chris Carter and Matt Hurwitz:
"Just got back from a fab Traveling Wilburys book release party in Beverly Hills. The book is one of those fancy GENESIS books and it’s worth every penny as the photos are mindblowers! At the party were: Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Olivia & Dhani Harrison, Jim Keltner, Eric Idle, Gary Wright, Joe Walsh….and Ringo! It all went down at James Perse hip clothing store on North Canon Drive in BH." Carter also told us, "the great DONOVAN will my in studio guest on my KLOS show (not SIRIUS) on March 14th….yeah!"
The George Harrison website has also published a report on last night's launch with additional pictures.

Olivia looks great. Wonder if anybody picked her brain about when we can expect some new releases.(Doubt it)
Anyway, isn't it interesting that Bob Dylan is nowhere to be found at anything that has to do with the Wilburys??? I find it depressing.
Dylan is probably busy planning his next Victoria's Secret appearance. Priorities, y'know. But where are Barabara Orbison and Tom Petty?
Great to see Matt Hurwitz again. He did a great job with his few issues of Good Day Sunshine zine until his "periodically challenged" nature got the better of him.
I'm sure this book is worth every penny, as were the Harrison books, but I do resent that those of us without the 4,000 or so pennies can't get a peasant's version. Ringo did it with Postcards From the Boys.
While this book looked interesting, I opted not to purchase it because it seemed that the remaining Wilburys really didn't put a lot of weight behind it... all respect to Jeff, but I wanted to see Bob and Tom's signatures on this book, too. I'm also not sure about Genesis since Brian Roylance passed... I have several deluxe editions that keep my expectations high for anything out of this company.
Got something to say?
