Halloween is one of the most festive times of the year, and as always there are plenty of happenings all over Long Island for funsters to enjoy and revel in the spirit of the season.  Halloween is a time for ghosts and goblins, vampires and werewolves, and one of the most popular Halloween activities is visiting haunted houses or taking haunted hayrides where these monsters can scare you out of your wits.  Long Island is a great setting for such marvelous mayhem and there are plenty of great spook fests to go around.  Check out some more of the best: 

CARNEVIL, Old Bethpage, NY

CARNEVIL, the stuff nightmares are made of, is back at Old Bethpage Village Restoration.  This unique Halloween experience is fun for the whole family.  Carnival Master Slim Chance takes you through his Chamber of Horrors Haunted House, featuring a bizarre collection of items and a gathering of his family of freaks.  As you move through the exits of the house of horrors, you’ll enter the Monster Midway, with all sorts of fun stuff, including a Monster Maze, games of chance, and an opportunity to dunk the dead guy.  To cap it all off, enjoy a haunted hayride back in time in a way that only CARNEVIL can.  The attraction is open various dates and times throughout the month of October.  Click the link within for more.

Gateway’s Haunted Playhouse of Horrors, Bellport, NY

The folks at the Gateway Playhouse in Bellport know how to put on a great show and this year’s edition of the theater’s annual Haunted Playhouse of Horrorspromises to be better than ever, with thrills and chills like no other in the perfect setting for a scary spookfest on a 100 year old estate.  Check out the link within for more information on tickets and hours.

Zombieworld Attack of the Killer Clowns Haunted House, Deer Park, NY
