More Jivamukti classes coming to Yoga Tree Hayes

"Jivamukti" means "liberation while living" which explains why the Jivamukti style of yoga has taken off explosively since its founding in 1984. Founded by David Life and Sharon Gannon, this style promises to be "vigorously physical and intellectually stimulating practice leading to spiritual awareness."

You can expect a class well woven of philosophy, Sanskrit chanting, asana and pranayam (pose and breathing practice, respectively) when attending a Jivamukti yoga teacher's class. Jill Abelson is helping Yoga Tree, Hayes Studio to expand their Jivamukti offerings with two new classes, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4:30-6:00pm. Both classes are "All Levels," though the Tuesday class is specifically Jivamukti Basics, while the Thursday class is Jivamukti Vinyasa. Vinyasa is simply a style of yoga in which the poses are linked through flowing and mindful transitions.

Jill Abelson will be presenting at the Yoga Alliance National Leadership Conference at the end of October and sharing her unique perspective as an expert. One of the things her website says sets Jivamukti Vinyasa Yoga Classes apart is that she uses hands-on adjustments, transmitting love and students receive a China gel massage at the beginning of class and massage in Savasana at the end.
