Alexander Skarsgard, who's nude and bloody hot on the latest cover of Rolling Stone, sizzles in newly released pictures from the stunning photoshoot with his True Blood co-stars Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin.

When asked about the rampant nude sex scenes in his hit HBO series, True Blood creator Alan Ball replied: "To me, vampires are sex. I don't get a vampire story about abstinence [referring to Twilight]. I'm 53. I don't care about high school students. I find them irritating and uninformed."

Stephen Moyer, who plays Bill Compton, agrees. "If we go from a base level, vampires create a hole in the neck where there wasn't one before. It's a de-virginization — breaking the hymen, creating blood and then drinking the virginal blood.

"And there's something sharp, the fang, which is probing and penetrating and moving into it. So that's pretty sexy. I think that makes vampires attractive. Plus, Robert Pattinson is just hot, right?"

To stay in shape for their racy sex scenes, the entire cast works out daily and diets strictly. "Alexander Skarsgård runs to the gym in the middle of the day if we have a long break," said Kristen Bauer ("Pam"). And let me tell you, Joe Manganiello works out hard."

Season 3 of True Blood is currently airing on HBO, with Season 4 set to begin shooting this fall.

[Editor's note: Stephen Moyer, 40, and Anna Paquin, 28, got married Aug. 21, 2010, in a small, beachside ceremony at a private residence in Malibu, Calif. Guests included True Blood costar Carrie Preston and husband Michael Emerson (Lost) and Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings).]
