More gamers prefer M.A.G over Halo 3: ODST in recent poll

In a three week poll conducted over at Blend Games (in conjunction with Electronic Theatre) gamers were given various descriptors for both Bungie’s Halo 3: ODST and Zipper Interactive’s M.A.G. There were various categories to vote on and according to the logs over the course of the aforementioned three weeks, just over three-to-one gamers preferred M.A.G over Halo 3: ODST.

As reported earlier on Blend Games, the results showed that per every vote cast for Halo 3: ODST nearly three votes were cast for M.A.G. With the exception of the weapon balance and gameplay category, in which case both games were voted for almost evenly.

For each category the polls were open for a week (as they are now closed even if a vote is cast) and at the end of each week the votes were tallied. In comparison there were approximately  three times as many votes in the cumulative tally for M.A.G over Halo 3: ODST. This certainly doesn’t mean the latest full-priced expansion of Halo 3 won’t sell well, but if they did release at the same time and Sony promoted M.A.G enough, gamers have easily spoken as to which game they would be willing to buy.

Be sure to stay tuned in for more gaming industry news, updates and information.

You can't compare a massively squad based military (tactical?) shooter to a 1-4 player expansion to a hit Sci-Fi RPG. Will MAG be better? Yes. Is it fair to compare the two? No.

TL;DR Don't compare these two games

I agree, they have few similarities... For a start Halo 3 ODST is more of an expansion than a full standalone game.
It would make more sense to compare M.A.G to Halo 3, although we all know how that would end.

Halo 3 is the best Multiplayer FPS for Xbox 360 and M.A.G may very wel be the best MMORPG/FPS for PS3, just don't rule out the chance that M.A.G may be a little over hyped.
I doubt the average gamer will have a nice, smooth online experience in a 256 player match; you will have to rely on 256 human beings for a good game... Laggy connections, dropouts and server errors will surely cause all kinds of hell. Sounds ominous.

Besides, people play Halo 3 because it's graphically pleasing, soo much fun, easy to set up matches and has the BEST developer support a game could hope for.

I've made my point, it's hard to compare the two as they are actually rather diverse.

M.A.G is a game to watch and a game to anticipate but don't be surprised if M.A.G is nicknamed L.A.G.

Call of duty modern warfare 2 in my opinion is going to top ODST as well... Halo is starting to become a game for teenager... Bungie is staying in it's comfort zone I don't think we will see much of an improvement in Halo until Reach comes out
