After a hearty twelve hours of hibernation at my California friends UWS Fashion Suite filled with several glasses of wine and frozen, yet tasty pizza’s, it was time to get our FW groove back on!
We dined on sushi for lunch over in the West Village/Chelsea area and decided to walk over to the Meat-packing district since the sun was radiantly glowing and the ice eventually thawing… The cute front door of the Glamour Magazine/Ying Chu Cat Lounge at 74 Gansevoort Street sported a silhouette of a cat on the front of the door. As we walked in, a small graffiti-style logo read, “Nu-Bitches.” (Works for me) ! The Glamour Cat Lounge served white hot-chocolate along with sweet treats. Cat-eye makeup and kitty nail decal services seemed to be a hit with everyone. As a parting gift, American Apparel chunky, cable-knit sweaters were given out to keep all the editors warm between destinations.
Then it was up to the Empire Hotel for beauty treatments by Covergirl. On the 10th floor of the Empire, Makeup touch-ups, manicures as well as hair-styling was taking place. The Beauty Lounge was relaxing as well as inviting. Rather than battle the masses over at the Box for a presentation, we skipped out in favor of pampering.
About an hour and a half later, we walked across the street for Katya Lenovich. I barely made it in because the show because it was about to start and the PR team was starting to pack-up. Once inside, I couldn’t find my seat-assignment, but was directed by one of the volunteers just to stand since it was a packed house. Feminine, gorgeous pieces graced each model. The looks could easily transition from a power-lunch, to drinks with friends’ after-work.
Then it was over to Williamsburg for the Nachmo 4 Finale Shows featuring Sharyn Korey. My neighbor/ballerina/friend/choreographer, Sharyn Korey produced this fabulous event. Nachmo! The National Choreography Month is the dance community’s annual extravaganza. This event encourages dancers to choreograph routines in a short amount of time. Each piece was refreshing and unique. Not knowing what would be next was the most exciting part of the show.

With the icy conditions and the running around town all day, we decided to return back to the Fashion Suite on the UWS in order to be rested for the next round of FW! Stay tuned.
