Even several days after the announcement that Connecticut man Pat Laffaye broke not only his own World Record score on the original Frogger arcade game, the news is all over the world.

First announced on Twin Galaxies website, and followed-up first by this very column, the story has since hit the mainstream with appearances on AOL, Yahoo!, G4tv, NBC, MTV, and hundreds of other news sources.

Also chiming in are two people of interest to the game of Frogger.

"Mazel Tov. You beat a fictional character with a fictional score. Give your parents back whatever they paid for your college," Jason Alexander, the actor who played the now-would-be-former Frogger champion George Costanza, jokingly stated in a statement released by his publicist.

Also chiming in was the man who actually did hold the Frogger record during the original airdate of the much talked about Seinfeld episode, Mark Robichek spoke to this Examiner columnist on the news.  Robicheck held the official former World Record on Frogger from the early days until finally beaten in 2005.

"Hey, Pat Laffaye, it was bad enough that you and Donald Hayes took turns beating my old Frogger world record, but now you've gone too far by knocking off George Constanza's score as well! But seriously, congratulations on your 896,980!" Robichek said. "Anything that keeps Frogger in the news is okay by me."

To Jason Alexander, common man I know that even you had to be impressed by the way your then character, George Castanza, acted when going after the record he tried to set and what the feeling actually felt like when actually setting that scores at the end of the episode, you gotta give the guy credit were credit is due.

To Robichek, You're absolutely right about Old School games still being mentioned to this day, but I still laughed when you were giving the business to Donald Hayes and Pat for beating up on your score. Be it the way you really feel or not it was still right on.
