More Feng Shui for fertility tips from expert Elizabeth Wiggins

Feng Shui expert Elizabeth Wiggins
offers tips for increasing fertility.

As women who are experiencing infertility, we've all heard the same suggestions over and over again. Don't smoke, don't drink alcohol or caffeine. Exercise but not too much, get plenty of sleep and manage your stress. The sum of all the advice is to live a healthy lifestyle both physically and mentally.

But something that can easily be overlooked is how the environment around us affects our well-being. Is your living space and your office space comfortable? Does it make you feel happy and secure? With the fast-paced lifestyle we all live in Dallas, it's easy to overlook the small comforts that might be one of the keys to helping you de-stress and hopefully achieve pregnancy.

All the way from Australia, Feng Shui expert Elizabeth Wiggins offers these tips to help make your lviing space more conducive to fertility and general happy living.

  • The bed's head should be against a solid wall. This will provide you with a sense of support and security when sleeping.
  • You should be able to see the whole room while lying in bed.
  • Avoid placing the foot of the bed in direct alignment with the door as this is the coffin position.
  • If the bedroom or bathroom door can be seen from the front door, it can turn the energy yin. This makes occupants lack motivation and feel fatigued and lazy.
  • Your bed should not be located under an exposed beam.
  • Avoid mirrors as they are harmful to relationships especially if they are directly opposite the bed. Remove them or cover them while sleeping.
  • Avoid clutter as Qi should flow easily through the room. It is particularly important that you do not store anything under the bed.
  • Bedrooms in the East are said to be auspicious as they catch the rising sun. This entices the occupants to get up and make something of their lives.
  • If you find you are having problems conceiving, Wiggins recommends removing anything red from the bedroom as this may be activating challenging energy.
  • Place a calabash on each bed side table to aid in absorbing any sickness energy.
  • If you have a bedroom or entance in the West during 2009, you may have found an increased risk of reproductive problems so place a calabash in the West until 4th Feb, 2010.

If your home doesn't allow you to follow the guidelines above, don't panic. The beauty of Feng Shui is the ability to "fix" a problem by applying another technique. Some Feng Shui definitions from Elizabeth Wiggins:

Yin - Yin is usually characterized as slow, soft, insubstantial, diffuse, cold, wet and tranquil. It is generally associated with the feminine, birth and generation, and with the night. Yin is great for a bedroom but for the entrance we want to the energy to be Yang. Yang, by contrast, is characterized as hard, fast, solid, dry, focused, hot, and aggressive. It is associated with masculinity and daytime.

Qi - Qi (chee) is life’s energy – it is in every living and non living thing and connects people with their surroundings. It vibrates at different frequencies and is in a constant state of change. So when we use Feng Shui we work to enhance the Sheng (positive) Qi and deflect or neutralise the Sha (negative) Qi.

Calabash - The Calabash or Wu-Lu is a ancient Chinese symbol of Longevity and Protection and is used to turn bad health into good health. All calabashes should have an opening to allow the sickness energy to be absorbed.

Thanks to Elizabeth for providing us with this great information on using Feng Shui to help increase fertility.
