Star Nursery is providing garden workshops for kids and adults.
On Saturday, February 16 all locations are offering the Kids Garden Club at 10 am. As Star Nursery says “We are cultivating future gardeners and planting healthy ideas.” Kids Garden Club activities are for ages 3 to 11 years old. A parent or guardian must be present and the activity is free. Register online at the Star Nursery website.
Saturday, February 23, 2013 will be a workshop for all ages covering the topic of spring vegetables and herb gardening. Visit any Star Nursery location at 10 am or 2 pm to get in on the activities.
Plant World Nursery
Leslie Doyle, the Tomato Lady will be at Plant World Nursery on West Charleston, Saturday, February 16, from Noon until 1 pm.
Stop in and ask your tomato growing questions and get other veggie and herb growing tips for Las Vegas gardens.
UNCE
Join the Cooperative Extension on Saturday, February 16 for a workshop on Gardening in Small Places from 8 a.m. to noon. Dr. Angela O’Callaghan will be covering such topics as types of containers to use, differences in potting mixes, using artificial light, fertilizers, success with seeds and more. The class is geared toward gardens in small spaces for homeowners and other interested parties.
Class space is limited and pre-registration is required. There is a $25 fee which includes class materials.
