Halloween Trick or Treat – Friday and Saturday, October 25th and 26th at the Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village (formerly the Amherst Museum), 3755 Tonawanda Creek Rd. in Amherst. Safe trick-or-treating for kids ages 3 to 12 at the Village’s 11 buildings; snacks and refreshments will also be provided. Registration is required, as times often sell out – Friday times are every 15 minutes from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday times are every 15 minutes from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Cost is $8 for kids, $5 for adults and free for BNHV members – find out more at bnhv.org.
Local Restaurant Week – Monday, October 21st through Sunday, October 27th at restaurants throughout the Buffalo-Niagara region. The 10th Restaurant Week celebration features meals for $20.13 – it could be lunch, dinner, a meal for one or a meal for two. Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony – Wednesday, October 30th from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Buffalo. The Class of 2013 includes ECC Kats alum Pam Amabile, high school football coach Dick Diminuco, bowler Art Jeziorski, former NHLer Todd Marchant, and Fredonia pole vaulting champ Jennifer Suhr. Tickets for the event are $85 per person or a table of 10 for $750 – get tickets and more information at buffalosportshallfame.com.
