Holiday Happening – Friday through Sunday, December 6th through 8th at participating wineries on the Niagara Wine Trail. Collect a different Nutcracker Ballet ornament at each winery you visit; tickets are good for all six days of the event and include a commemorative wine glass at your first winery, an ornament at each stop and three tastings at each winery you visit. Victorian Christmas – Friday, December 6th through Saturday, December 14th at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural site, 641 Delaware Ave. in Buffalo. Daily display hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The opening night silent auction and wine tasting on Friday, December 6th features entertainment by The Hot Club of Buffalo, wine and hors d’oeuvres plus auction items and theme baskets, and there will be luncheons throughout the event. Polar Express – Saturday and Sunday, December 7th and 8th, plus other selected dates, at the Medina Railroad Museum, 530 West Ave. in Medina. There are four departure times each day: 2:15, 3:30, 4:45 and 6 p.m. – the ride is one hour long, and your ticket includes Museum admission. Tickets range in price from $23 to $45 and will be held at the Will Call window at the Museum for pick up – please arrive approximately one hour before the ride. It WAS A Wonderful Life! – Saturday and Sunday, December 7th and 8th at 2 p.m. each day at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1411 Delaware Ave. in Buffalo; runs on weekends through Sunday, December 29th. This year’s performance is written and directed by Joseph Demerly and will be narrated by “John Lay,” the first person to be interred in Forest Lawn in 1850. Tickets are $25 per person, and seating is limited for each performance, so reservations are required – call 716-885-1600 for reservations. Find out more at www.forest-lawn.com.
