Power Vista Festival of Trees – now through January 4th, 2014 at the Niagara Power Vista, 5777 Lewiston Rd. in Lewiston. Part of the “Holiday Lights of Niagara Trail,” the Festival of Trees features artificial evergreens and energy-efficient lights, with the trees decorated by local non-for-profit groups. Admission is free, and the Power Vista is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily (except Christmas Eve, Christmas, Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day) – find out more at the Power Vista website.

East Aurora Carolcade – Saturday, December 21st at 7 p.m. in front of Vidler’s in East Aurora. Enjoy hundreds of performers singing traditional Christmas carols, hot cocoa at Vidler’s and view Main St. decked out for Christmas. Find out more at the event’s Facebook page.

Breakfast with Santa – Saturday and Sunday, December 21st and 22nd at the Buffalo Zoo, 300 Parkside Ave. in Buffalo. Santa and his elves will visit kids for two seatings, 9 and 11 a.m., each day; featuring a breakfast buffet from CJ’s Catering. Pre-paid, non-refundable tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for children (members receive $3 discount per ticket); visit for tickets and more information or call 716-995-6133.

It WAS A Wonderful Life! – Saturday and Sunday, December 21st and 22nd at 2 p.m. each day at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1411 Delaware Ave. in Buffalo. This year’s performance is written and directed by Joseph Demerly and will be narrated by “John Lay,” the first person to be interred in Forest Lawn in 1850. Tickets are $25 per person, and seating is limited for each performance, so reservations are required – call 716-885-1600 for reservations. Find out more at
