Rockmart Police Chief Keith Sorrells has confirmed that the suspect in the Pearl Street Shooting incident is William Neal Moss, 24, of 312 Pearl Street in Rockmart.

Moss was arrested Tuesday after he returned to the scene of the crime on a 48 hour hold pending the results of the investigation.

The shooting left two women injured.

Police were dispatched to the residence just before 11 a.m. Tuesday morning when neighbors called 911 to report multiple gunshots in the area. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered one victim sitting on the side of the road with her head wrapped in a bandage and awaiting their arrival.

One female victim was shot in the neck and shoulder area with the bullet passing clean through and exiting the back shoulder. She was airlifted with non life threatening injuries.

The second female victim who was waiting for police arrival was reportedly in the home at the time of the shooting. She also suffered non life threatening injuries as a passing bullet grazed her head. The woman refused any medical treatment. She was able to talk with investigators regarding the incident as well as the suspect.

On Wednesday evening, Moss was formally charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault.

Today, two more warrants charging Moss with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and felony possession of a firearm during the commission of crime were also issued and he has been charged accordingly.

According to Rockmart Police Chief Keith Sorrells, the incident that led to the shooting started out as a domestic dispute.

Moss remains in custody with bond denied at the time of this publication.
