On Thursday morning, Jan. 10, TMZ.com reported that music superstar Britney Spears will indeed not be returning as a judge next season on “X-Factor”.
According to the site, Spears is so preoccupied and focused on kick starting her music career that she simply had to pass on the chance, and a reported $15 million, for another go-round on the reality competition show.
Spears is said to be in the studio at the moment as she works on her 8th album. Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas is said to be collaborating with her, as well as producer Hit-Boy, known best for his work with Kanye West and Jay-Z.
“Britney loves Simon [Cowell], she likes Demi Lovato,” a source added. “But her thing is music.”
So vested into her personal career is Spears, that she may soon be considering embarking on another tour.
In a follow-up report, Entertainment Weekly seems to counter the breaking news, claiming that producers for “X-Factor” hadn’t had any serious intentions of bringing Spears back for another season.
“The producers hadn’t planned for Britney to return this year,” revealed an inside source. “She did her best last season, but they have been planning a new judging line up over the holiday period and she was never going to be part of those discussions. It’s no surprise to anyone that they were all going to be parting company. It wasn’t even really a conversation.”
