In Broward County, 4,400 construction jobs were added to the economy from January 2013 to January 2014, according to a State of Florida report contained in an article by Marcia Heroux Pounds in the March 24 Sun Sentinel.
All this is great news, really great news to the thousands of construction workers who suffered during the Great Recession. "I am glad that not only do I have a job but I have received multiple offers for my skills as a carpenter," said Daniel Fields.
"I remember how tough it was during the recession. I went months without more than a few days of work. Now I am getting job offers. I work as a carpenter in Miami," said Roland Mitchell.
"I hope we see more buildings going up. I need the work and so do my friends," said Fernando Gonzalez.
