Fans of 4J Studios’ Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition received a pleasant surprise late last week after it was announced that Microsoft’s console version of the popular game would be receiving a new skin pack add-on today. The Marvel Spider-Man Skin Pack DLC offers new player avatars based upon the famed hero and his various supporting characters. Announcing the full list of characters that will become available as playable Minecraft avatars for those who purchase the new skin pack, the official website for Xbox Live Arcade released a complete roster of the new skins on April 29.

The Marvel Spider-Man Skin Pack will introduce a total of 35 new player skins to the Xbox 360 edition of Minecraft when it releases later today. Nine of the new avatars are based upon different costumes worn by Spider-Man himself. In addition to the classic Spider-Man costume, fans can expect to see other skins which represent his other popular costumes such as the black suit, the Future Foundation outfit, and more.

The remainder of the dozens of new skins that the DLC will provide will consist of other characters from the popular Marvel Comics series. Minecraft fans will be about to explore their bad side as the new skin pack will also allow players to change their in-game avatars into some of Spider-Man’s greatest villains. The add-on will include new skins based on the likes of Kingpin, Black Cat, Lizard, Kraven, Shocker, and more.

Adding even more characters from the Spider-Man universe, the DLC also includes various supporting characters such as Mary Jane Watson, J. Jonah Jameson, Gwen Stacy, and even Aunt May. Players can find a complete list of all 35 characters from the skin pack on PlayXBLA.

4J Studios' Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is now available in stores or as digital download from Xbox Live. The Marvel Spider-Man Skin Pack is currently scheduled to launch later today but now exact time has been given as to when fans should expect the add-on to go live.
