Filming in the Vancouver, BC area on "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn" will begin on February 24, 2011 and run through April 15, 2011. This information has been verified with the actors union in British Columbia. There will be additional principal actor casting for smaller day player roles and extras in Vancouver.
Shooting has already taken place in Brazil and has been underway in Baton Rouge, Louisiana since mid-November. A number of extras were cast in Brazil, however much less background performers have been hired in Baton Rouge because filming there has been mainly interior shots inside Raleigh Studios at The Celtic Media Centre. The bulk of exterior shooting will take place in Vancouver, and additional interiors will be filmed at North Shore Studios.
Director Bill Condon has been very well liked by the cast and crew so far, and it looks like a great move by Summit Entertainment in hiring Condon. Sofia Coppola stated that she did consider directing the final installment in the Twilight Saga before turning it down. The Academy Award nominated director was offered the job by the studio but decided Breaking Dawn wasn't one for her. Coppola often writes her own screenplays and prefers using her own scripts.
