Yesterday officials obtained 2 search warrants to search Phillip Garrido properties in two separate kidnapping cases from the late 1980s. Today, investigators found bones on the property where Nancy and Phillip Garrido lived with Jaycee Dugard and her daughters, and additional bones on the property that is adjacent to the home. They are unsure if the bones are human or animal. The Garrido’s lived at this property for the last 18 years, according to CNN.
In 1988, Michaela Garecht (right in photo), went missing at 9 years old and the police have reason to believe that she may have been kidnapped by Phillip Garrido.
Ilene Mischeloff (left in photo) was abducted in 1989 at 13 years old, this is another case that investigators think is related to Phillip Garrido. There are many similarities between Jaycee Dugard kidnapping and these two girls to obtain a search warrant. They will be looking for any items that may connect the Garrido’s to either kidnapping case.
The police stated that the FBI, the Contra Costa County Police Department, and Hayward Police Department are all assisting with the search, and that the operation will take several days.
Phillip and Nancy Garrido have been accused of kidnapping Jaycee Dugard when she was 11 years old in 1991. Jaycee Dugard was found last month after 18 years of being away from her family. Elizabeth Smart from Salt Lake City, Utah was another case of a young girl who was kidnapped and kept for almost a year before she was re-united with her family.
