More Beatles 50th anniversary events where fans can celebrate

CBS' special tribute to the Beatles Feb. 6 at the Ed Sullivan Theater, which was announced earlier today, is the latest of the new Beatles 50th anniversary events. Here's a supplemental list to our Week Ahead listing from the weekend:

  • Feb. 7-28: Unseen photos from the Beatles 1964 U.S. Tour by photographers Curt Gunther, Ken Regan, Robert Whitaker, Charles Trainor, Terry O'Neil and Rowland Scherman, Sunset Marquis Hotel, W. Hollywood, CA.

  • Feb. 9: Beatles 50th anniversary party at CBS Scene Restaurant and Bar in Foxboro, Mass. hosted by Cha-Chi Loprete of WZLX's “Breakfast With the Beatles.” Includes screening of “The Beatles Boston” documentary (in which Loprete in interviewed), Beatle tribute bands, special guests, trivia, videos and prizes. At 8 p.m., the CBS broadcast of “The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to The Beatles” will be show. Admission is free.

  • Feb. 9: “The Night They Changed America: A Grammy Tribute to the Beatles,” 8 p.m. ET/PT, CBS.

  • Feb. 11: “Ladies and Gentlemen, the Beatles”: Beatles author Mark Lewisohn talks to Grammy Museum executive director Bob Santelli, 6:45 p.m. Feb. 11, Smithsonian Institute, Washington, D.C.

  • Feb. 15: The Lonely Hearts Club Band 50th Anniversary Tribute, Cranbury Inn Restaurant, Cranbury, N.J.

  • Feb. 24 to Aug. 11: Exhibit, “Tomorrow Never Knows: The Beatles in Text and Image,” with books about the group and solo, Penn Libraries new Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts, the sixth floor of the Van Pelt Library, University of Pennsylvania. Included will be the launch of “She Loves You,” Jude Southerland Kessler's third volume of her extended series on John Lennon.

  • Also: “50 Years of Beatlemania”: Rock Paper Photo is featuring pictures by Henry Grossman, Astrid Kirchherr and Tom Murray, including newly available photos from Grossman.
