(Continued from yesterday) Mind’s Eye producer Meryem Ersoz says:
“My intent was to make an actual Colorado film - meaning the settings are central to the film and help to define who the characters are. I used music composed by a Fairview High School student, etc. and am using local bands in the soundtrack-- I did all I could to bring as many local elements to the film as possible.”
For those who want to know a little more about what the exhibit includes, curator Emilie Kintner writes:
“The exhibit will cover the history of movies and films in Colorado and more specifically Boulder, beginning with the first showing of a moving picture in Boulder in 1897 and the early film houses in boulder including the Isis, Curran and of course the Boulder Theater. We also have great memorabilia and photographs of the filming of The Glen Miller Story, Stage Coach, Catch and Release, the Boulder International Film Festival, the 24-Hour Shoot Out and Moondance. The piece de resistance would have to be the Academy Award memorabilia from the 2009 documentary The Cove in addition to the actual Sundance Film Festival award!”
After Thursday night’s gala, the exhibit will be on display during regular museum hours: Tuesday – Friday, 10am – 5pm, and Saturday and Sunday, noon – 4pm. The museum is closed on Mondays. Group tours and event are also available; check out the groups page on the website for more info. The Boulder History Museum is located at 1206 Euclid Ave (80302), and the phone number is 303-449-3464.
