“What's legal ain't no where near as much fun,” said Steven Ray Tickle, who was apparently having a blast getting drunk in a convenience store parking lot.
Today Daily Mail reported that police arrested Tickle, known by his surname on Discovery Channel's series “Moonshiners,” for public intoxication last Thursday afternoon. A citizen of Danville, Virgina witnessed Tickle drinking alcohol while loitering in a parking lot and complained to police at about 2:41 p.m.
Police arrived at Charley's Stop and Shop and located Tickle who was drinking by himself in a parked car. A Danville police officer told the Raleigh Telegram, “The officer approached him and detected a strong odor of alcohol as well as normal indications of being intoxicated.”
Officers ticketed Tickle for public intoxication. They first asked him to arrange for someone to take him home, but he was unable to do so. Police said he was also unable to walk, describing him as needing to be “carried” to the jail. He was later released.
