Moondance Jammin Country is slated to once again pack on the small country charm next month June 20-21 in beautiful Walker Minnesota. With the reigning ACMA New Artist of the Year, Justin Moore at the helm, with No. 1 hits, "Small Town USA", "Til My Last Day" and current hit, "Lettin The Night Roll" it's a sure hit. That's not to detract at all from an already stellar lineup including newcomers Sarah Darling, Jon Pardi and Dallas Smith; with rising star Hunter Hayes set to close this year's festival on Saturday night.
Hayes is quickly headed to superstar status with No. 1 hits like "Wanted", "Somebody's Heartbreak" and his current single, "Invisible" that along with his good looks and southern charm, Hayes is likely to leave the ladies swooning at the end of this years festival. Although the lineup seems to be somewhat solid, there seems to be something missing, just one superstar to the bill. An easy pick would have been the duo Florida Georgia Line, who not only broke records with their infectious "Cruise" but also broke the mold on the combining of country and rap music respectively. Another possible pick could have been television personality and artist, Blake Shelton. Organizers may want to keep this little country festival small and nature, but it wouldn't hurt to shake things up a bit with a solid superstar headlining the festival next year.
Concert attendees are still in for a great time, with the likes of Joe Nichols crooning about how "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Come Off" then reminiscing about his sweetheart when it was "Sunny and 75", (which will more than likely be actual temperatures come festival time). Along with Nichols comes comic country performer Rodney Atkins who is sure to entertain audiences with his one of a kind mix of music and comedy. Also returning, is local flavor Lost Highway who are creating quite the buzz in the Upper Midwest, offering a variety of the latest country hits and more.
Tickets can still be purchased at either jammincountry.com or by calling 877-MOONJAM.
