New Moon: The new moon stands for a time of new beginnings, as the moon is empty and no light fills it, and is a new, clean slate. Use this as a metaphor for yourself; at the beginning of the moon's cycle, you, too, are a clean canvas, ready to fill with whatever your life needs. As the moon fills with light from this point forward, imagine that you, too, are filling with what you need. Use both ritual, visualization, and physical change to fully accomplish your goal.
First Quarter: This phase of the moon is at the halfway point between new and full, and is also the first quarter point of the four quarters of the moon's cycle. At this time, check your progress and growth. If you are doing great, use this night to perform a boosting ritual or prayer; if you are not doing as good as you would like, re-evaluate your plan and start brand new tonight while you have plenty of time!
Full Moon: This moon has three nights of useable time. The day before the full moon, still called full, is great for powerful increasing or drawing prayers and spells. The night of the full moon is good for empowerment of tools and performing all types of powerful prayers and spells. The third night of the full moon is good for powerful ridding or banishing prayers and spells, as the cycle prepares to wind down. Use the full moon to pick what you want to get rid of in your life, because as the light leaves the moon, so will what you pick.
Third Quarter: This phase of the moon is the halfway point of the waning cycle; what you picked at the full moon to rid yourself from should be leaving you at this point. Like at the first quarter, you should check and re-evaluate your plan, so when the new moon rolls around, you are a clean slate again!
