What kind of monster would shoot an innocent cat through the head with a crossbow? That's what authorities want to know as MooMoo, a four-year-old cat was discovered by his owner with an arrow through his head earlier this week in Wainuiomata, NZ reported the New York Daily News.
MooMoo's owner, Donna Ferrari, rushed her adorable feline friend to the Wainuiomata Veterinary Clinic, where experts were so stunned by the cat being alive and seemingly normal, they immediately referred MooMoo to the Massey University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. There, specialists assessed the arrow had entered just above his eye socket, ran across his skull and completely missed any soft brain tissue.
There was some injury to his nose and eye, but that is expected to completely heal. MooMoo's veterinarians placed drains to regulate swelling after removing the arrow and cleaned up any signs of contamination to avoid infection.
Experts are convinced that MooMoo is one brave cat because the velocity of the arrow entering his head must have scared at least one of his nine cat lives away.
Authorities have launched an investigation to find the nasty culprit responsible for such a heinous crime and be punished. MooMoo's human stated:
"I'm sick to my stomach. Hopefully the person responsible is caught or feels so much hatred from the community that they never do anything like it again."
