Moogfest, a music festival and conference that explores the ingenuity of Bob Moog, will feature performances by a massive roster of artists, including many from Detroit. Music Showcases curated by experimental labels include Detroit's Movement and Ghostly International.

The five day event will be packed with conversation, experimentation and collaboration for industry professionals in the tech and creative fields. Days and nights will be filled with live performances, film screenings, interactive exhibitions and presentations from avant garde thinkers.

Dr. Robert Moog and his company, Moog Music, created tools that gave artists the ability to express themselves in a totally new way. He altered the lives of artists and influenced innumerable musicians to craft an art form that is unique to each individual, made possible with the concept of the synthesizer.

Every night will feature landmark musical performances from trailblazers, electronic music pioneers, experimental innovators and renown musical acts. Musicians will perform at ten different venues located throughout the city.

The festival and conference will be held in Asheville, North Carolina beginning on Wednesday April 23, and ending on Sunday, April 27, 2014.

Designers, musicians, scientists, engineers and artists will experience an explosion of ideas and inspiration as cutting edge ideas collide with creative expression.
