Is it only your diet that determines your weight loss success? A new study indicates that your character may have just as much "weight" on the issue.
Researchers with the National Institute on Aging discovered that conscientious people weigh about 8 pounds less than those who aren't so responsible. Cranky people gained 10 pounds more over their lives. And the ones who were impulsive? They weighed 22 pounds more than their cautious friends.
How can that help you?:
- If you tend to eat more when you're angry, plan ahead for snack time (try these 4 skinny snacks from Dr. Oz!).
- Do you eat on impulse? Plan, plan, plan ahead for every meal, and consider a support group like Weight Watchers.
