Montreal SPCA Feline Frenzy

Moving Day in Montreal is always a busy time for local shelters.  Sadly, many former pets wind up being dumped at shelters or abandoned in apartments when their owners move.  To many people, animals are a disposable commodity .  In fact, it's been estimated that a great deal of Montrealers keep their pets for an average of 2 years before deciding they aren't worth the time or effort.

Cats are a particular problem here.  And the Montreal SPCA is overflowing with them.  In an effort to promote the adoption of older cats they are having a special adoption weekend “Feline Frenzy-2010”, this coming July 10th-11th.  They will even be absorbing part of the adoption fees for cats over the age of one.

Here are the details:

  • WHAT:  SPCA Feline Frenzy Adoption Day

  • WHEN: Saturday July 10th,  Sunday July 11th, 11am - 5pm

  • WHERE:  Montreal SPCA:  5215 Rue Jean Talon Ouest

Because of the influx of animals, temporary foster homes are also greatly appreciated. For more, contact the Foster Family Program at 514-735-2711 ext. 2237.
