Just in time for the holidays, the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County (AWLMC) is offering free spay/neuter certificates to county cat owners. AWLMC will distribute 100 of the certificates, which will cover spaying or neutering at a participating veterinarian. Montgomery County cat owners who are experiencing economic hardship are encouraged to apply, but there are no income qualifications for participation.
Participants must be residents of Montgomery County. To receive a free spay/neuter certificate, county cat owners should call 301-740-2511 or email spayneuter@awlmc.org. Online applications will be accepted until December 24, 2010.
AWLMC is committed to ending the euthanasia of adoptable animals in Montgomery County. They offer low-cost spay/neuter certificates year-round and also operate a cat shelter in Gaithersburg. Visit their website for more information.
