Montessori symposium coming to Chicago: The Children’s Global Village Project

The American Montessori Society in cooperation with the Italian Consulate General is hosting a Montessori symposium in Chicago on Monday, November 15th, 2010. The symposium will cover a variety of current educational topics and be hosted by certified Montessori educators, international academic panelists and expert medical professionals.

Scheduled topics include:

Motor activity and the philosophy of Maria Montessori: Diane Levine from Rogers Park Montessori School
The Children’s Global Village Project: Antonio Ammendolia from the University of Cantanzaro, Italy
Children’s obesity: Amy Hills Luke from Loyola University
Lack of physical activities and prevention of pathologies in children: Dr. Pietro Tonino from Loyola University Health Systems

The symposium will be moderated by Fosca Shakleton White from the Montessori Academy of Chicago.
